Afro-EurAsia map/graph

Explanations:

Showing countries in the Africa-Europe-Asia continental landmass.
Designed for a typical PC or tablet browser screen (NOT smartphone).
The map projection avoids typical Mercator distortion near the poles.
It is centered at a supposed "cradle of humankind" (Iraq).
Each country is represented by a yellow circle.
Each circle contains a 3 letter ISO country code.
Each circle is centered on the capital of that country.
Circle radius is small, medium or large (reflecting land area).
Lines join countries which share a boundary.

This is a safe, small stand alone "all in one" page.
No cookies, no advertisements, no external resources.
Do not depend on these country data values for critical uses.

If you hover over a circle, the full country name appears.
If you click (tap) a country circle, a text box will pop up.
This popup gives data for that country (e.g. area, population etc).
If you click the popup, it will then disappear.
Note that this data is "fairly" recent, BUT may be an estimate.

Navigation buttons are provided.
Panning is left/right and up/down.
(E.g. press "Left" to move your viewpoint left).
Zooming is "In" to magnify, "Out" to shrink.
The "Revert" button resets all navigation etc back to normal.

For viewing convenience, the yellow circles can be rescaled.
This is done using the "Small", "Normal" or "Large" buttons.
The current scale setting is shown by red button text.

There are 4 buttons to show data ranges of each country.
(ie population, GDP, GDP per capita and gini coefficient categories).
The currently active data category is shown by red button text.
Each category will highlight some of the country circles.
A purple ring will appear on countries with a good or high value.
A red ring will appear on countries with a bad or low value.
(for gini, income equality is "good").

For comparison, here is some data from a few countries outside the area:
  [area, population, GDP, gini]
Australia: [7.69M sq km, 27.2M, $1.75T USD, 31]
Brazil: [8.52M sq km, 212.7M, $2.17T USD, 52]
Canada: [9.98M sq km, 39.3M, $2.14T USD, 32]
New Zealand: [0.268M sq km, 5.2M, $260.2B USD, 34]
USA: [9.8M sq km, 343.5M, $27.2T USD, 47]

[TODO: make inter-country links show cross border trade?
add more data (e.g. carbon emissions)?
show derived density or per capita info in popop?
  properly test/optimise on smartphones?]
